The other night I went to close up the coop for the night. When I got up to the garden, I was relieved to see that they were all inside already - no chasing birds tonight, thank goodness since dinner was in the oven at 425 degrees. When I got close enough to be recognized, all my beautiful birds, in perfect unison chirped, "MOM!!!!" and fluttered out of the coop like a feathered football team taking the field. Fortunately, they went back inside with equal gusto, but it sure was a nice welcome.
They have taken to perching in the saucer magnolia. It's cute to watch them trying to stay in the bush.
