Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) offered a resolution on the house floor asking congress to skip their lame duck session.
“Americans are sick and tired of their elected leaders making backroom deals to ram through unpopular, 2000-page bills that no one has read,” said Price. In true government fashion, the Democrats chose to delay the vote.
Confidence at All-time Low
In related news, Americans' confidence in the federal government has reached an all time low.
When it comes to more 2000-page bills from a lame duck congress...if you ain't got nothin' you got nothin' to lose.
Obama Chooses a Crook
We all know that's something he's good at! Obama picked a Charlottesville, VA woman to stand beside him as an example of why the unemployed need more federal handouts. The problem? The woman was convicted last year of prescription drug fraud and in 2007 was charged with felony grand larceny.
Rangel Facing 13 Ethics Violations
Speaking of crooks, will this one finally be held responsible for his crimes? Can you imagine what would happen to you if you hadn't paid taxes on $600k in rental income? Somehow, I don't think the congressman will get the same treatment.
I just have to link the Huffington Post's headline on this story today:
Charles Rangel Trial: GOP Gets Its Wish For A Case During Campaign Season.
And this is where Obama thinks we should get our news.
SEC Exempt from Public Disclosure
In addition to putting unelected bureaucrats in charge of financial institutions, in addition to exempting Fannie and Freddie, the Financial Reform Law states that the Securities and Exchange Commission "no longer has to comply with virtually all requests for information releases from the public, including those filed under the Freedom of Information Act."
Most transparent administration ever, huh?
FBI to Access Email Without a Warrant
The regime has proposed an amendment that would allow the FBI to access your email and web surfing by simply obtaining "the signature of a special agent in charge of any FBI field office and there is no need even for a suspicion of wrongdoing, merely that the records would be relevant in a counterintelligence or counterterrorism investigation. The person whose records the government wants doesn't even need to be a suspect."
Barack's Birthday Card Linked to DNC Donation Site
Michelle says in the card:
This has been a big -- and hectic -- year for him. After signing the Affordable Care Act and Wall Street reform into law -- and completing his first year as president -- I think it's safe to say we will remember it for a long time. And I know full well how much he credits this movement, and the work of supporters like you, for the change that we've accomplished. So I'm putting together a birthday card that I would like you to sign. Together with supporters -- and me, Malia, Sasha, and Bo -- we'll wish him a happy birthday and let him know that we're ready to take on the year ahead alongside him.Bet there's no cake. Did I mention that the link takes you to a site paid for by Organizing for America?
Have a great weekend folks!
