Seize BP: Rosie called it

I have been playing ostrich the past two days thinking maybe if I bury my head in the sand for a while, things won't sound quite so bad. I pulled my head out this afternoon and found that things actually look much worse.

I know I'm being a downer here but the things that have happened just this week are mind-numbing, especially when taken in conjunction with everything that has gone down over the past 18 months. Sorry folks, but I'm not sure America is going to come out of this intact.

Last week I posted an audio of Rosie O'Donnell commanding BO to seize BP's assets. This week, the regime has essentially done just that. Yesterday, the thugs in Washington convinced BP (Chicago style, I'm sure) to create a $20 billion escrow fund to compensate those damaged by the spill. I'm not saying that BP isn't responsible for damages here. I am saying that we have a legal system.

I wonder, are injured parties going to receive that money or will it all get funneled to BO's union buddies and green energy gurus.

In addition to the $20 billion, BP was made to set up a $100 million fund for people who are unemployed because of the 6-month moratorium on drilling. At least Obama's admitting his policies are costing Americans jobs.

So back to Rosie here, I've learned that the US Government essentially has a lien against all BP's assets in the United States.

In creating a victims' compensation fund, BP will use noncore U.S. assets as security for its $20 billion obligation. Chief Financial Officer Byron Grote stopped short of calling it a lien, but he said the assets will be used as security.

Naturally, BP suspended dividends. Why do people not understand that corporations are not giant, faceless gold mines? They are owned by people like you and me. Got a 401k? You own part of a corporation. All this money the administration is squeezing from BP is taken straight from people who have invested in BP.

Why does this seem familiar? Oh yes, GM. Government takes over and stiffs all the bondholders like my 93 year old granny.

I'm not done yet. BO made it clear in his speech that he was going to use this disaster to push climate change legislation. They are doing so with such avidity that for the first time, I seriously wonder if they were not behind the leak to begin with. Skip back to May and check out my post about cap and trade/American Power Act/Climate change legislation or whatever they're calling it today.

What is the plan to stop the leak, you ask? There is none, but Barry wants $15 million so his Oil Czar and her commission can talk about it. Do these people know anything about oil? No, but they sure want to Green America.

Let's put all this together:

Stop oil production + no replacement for lost energy (wind, solar and unicorn manure just don't cut it) + tax carbon = Effective Collapse of the Economy

What are you coming up with?

Oh but wait, I'm not done yet (God help me, I sound like the slap-chop guy). Our wanna-be dictator stops all US drilling in the Gulf, but gives $2 Billion to Petrobras to help the Brazilians with their offshore drilling. Couldn't possibly have anything to do with Obama-puppeteer George Soros having a mega-million dollar stake in Petrobras.

Think I'm exaggerating on the dictator thing? Check this one out.

Thank you for reading this rant. I feel like I need to put some Bunni-style fuzzy critter pictures in to make us all feel better. Here, have a chicken.

  1. That's a really pretty chicken.

I am sick and tired of this "Thugocracy". It must be stopped. I am sick and tired of business executives acting like pussies.

Can you imagine the government trying to shake down Henry Ford? Mellon? Rockefeller? Hell, even Roger B. Smith? No! The feminization of American business, American education, American society is nearly complete.

The sight of these BP eunuchs adopting their "Green" program, donating en-masse to the Muslim dictator, and, now, caving in to the "scary" demands of Carol Browner in order to save their pathetic salaries and bonuses, is disgusting at best.

    Happy "Father's" Day.

  2. Kristin, I suspect that you and I are not alone in thinking along these lines. The big question to me is why on earth aren't people doing something? People like republicans? Former presidents? Someone? Anyone? Is this what it felt like in Germany right after the Reichstag fire and before everything started spiraling out of control (well, for the public, who lost--or had "suspended"--all of their civil liberties)? Is it all just too much happening too fast for people to grasp? I mean while all this is going on, don't forget the legislation about turning over our guns to the UN and the "net neutrality" nightmare and now new legislation to empower BO to essentially shut down the internet and the classification of terrorists that really only covers Americans who are patriots and Constitutionalists or the government taking over newspapers, NEWSPAPERS, for God's sake or the . . . Ugh! I need to look at that chicken again to cheer myself up.

  3. I'm with Fuzzy. I think you're on the right track. He's got only a few months left to completely kill what's left of the economy, and shut us up, and he's going to go flat out to do just that.

  4. What I want to know, is why the media blackout? We already know it's bad and are not reacting as they should. What do they have to hide?

Exactly right. What Obama has been doing, issuing orders to take over businesses, replace CEO's, force banks to take money, ... none of that is Constitutional. And yet he's getting away with it.

    I do not understand.

Looking forward to 2010 elections and to 2012 elections even more.
