  1. Kristin, I love chickens. We had them a long time ago, but live in town now, and do not.

I can watch those things all day for entertainment. I've got another blog buddy that raises chickens in Oregon. He posted one of his "naked redneck chick" post today. I always get a kick out of seeing people's chickens, and wish I could keep some myself.

    Sigh...

  2. They are better than television for entertainment value!

  3. I don'-know... I still love coming of age movies, an' house restoration, an' Rush or Glenn for entertainemnt and edificaion.....and now my DUCKS. This morning they had waddled en-masse to my door for morning flock feed. Can/Do chickens do that? Well, I guess so. But can chickens FLY to the pond on demand???? The other day my grand-nephew said, "Wow, they can really fly like birds!" I said, "Ducks are birds." He said, "But they can really fly great!" Life in this country can be GREAT. And SIMPLE.

  4. Sadly, the chickens don't fly much. Poor Frizz can't fly at all since her feathers are backwards. I have to help her up onto the roost with the rest of her flock each night.

And Gail, I didn't mean to give up television, just that I usually find myself watching the birds instead of the tube :P

  6. When I was a kid, my cousins and I used to break eggs in the chicken coup on purpose.

  7. *gasp* What is it with boys? I think my boys know I would tan their hides if they try such a thing.

We had an issue a few months back with a broken duck egg. Let's just say, it wasn't pretty for them.

  8. I commented here ... honest ... I keep hitting home. Sometimes I even amaze me with my super intellect. I think I said something like "redneck humping, ain't it great!".
