I endorse Oxendine.
Last week I reviewed some of the candidates on the 2010 ballot in Georgia. In that post, I said I liked both Oxendine and Handel for governor.
Handel and Oxendine have essentially the same platform and beliefs. I actually like Oxendine's platform slightly better because of his desire to eliminate the income tax in Georgia and his commitment to the Fair Tax.
In my eyes, Palin endorsed Handel solely because she's a woman. (Pet peeve here: Handel's signs are green. Come on lady, really!? When do you ever see the guy with the green sign win?)
I believe Oxendine is the only candidate who will beat Democrat Roy Barnes in the general election. A Mason-Dixon poll that ran in yesterday's paper matched up candidates in the general election:
Ox vs. Barnes 42-42
Handel vs. Barnes 34-45
Deal vs. Barnes 28-46
I read the entire article in your "Palin endorses Handel" link and two things come to mind. 1) The first black president endorses the wannabe for first black Governor of the Great State of Georgia, and 2) Even Bill Clinton realizes that we don't need Barnes again--Been there, done that, didn't turn out so well.

I get more disenchanted by Sahah Palin every day. It started when she endorsed John McCain, and went down hill from there.

ReplyDeleteI'm giving Palin a pass on backing McCain, it was a pay back for bringing her onto the national scene. I won't forgive any more RINO support from her.

I'm with Odie, too. Actually my disenchantment with Sarah started long before the McCain endorsement. I can't say I blame her for that one so much. He is a fine American, and she did owe him big time...politics...
ReplyDeleteBut, there is just "something" about Sarah that I can't quite put my finger on. Don't get me wrong, she's a good lady, but sometimes it seems that her principles are hard to nail down.
I'm glad that conservative women are stepping up to run for high offices. But, I would hate to think that Sarah is just endorsing this lady because of that.
But WHO is a candidate for our viewpoints? I need someone on the national scene without the national crime-scene proclivities, someone who is honest and capable of running a business successfully, someone who may have already done big business turn-arounds despite percived odds. Sarah is not cutting it for me right now. But then no one is! I need a real live go-to candidate.
